E' la solita storia d'amore in bilico tra la vita di campagna e quella di città, con schermaglie romantiche e situazioni più o meno il bel Raul Bova fa il filo alla spagnola Liz Solari, il cast di contorno si dà da… Italica commediola, leggera e disimpegnata, i cui pregi maggiori sono dati dal bel cast e dal fatto di non essere mai troppo volgare.

With only their wits and pom poms to guide them, a group of six high school teens are led into the wilderness by their coach Ms. Hendricks (ex- Fear Factor winner Tamie Sheffield) and wise-crackin' bus driver Buzzy (Leonard Johnson) when their van breaks down in the middle of the woods. Meanwhile, the manhunt is on for a crazy driller-killer that's escaped from prison, seeking fresh blood and vengeance for those that wronged him in the past. When our gorgeous group finds shelter in a seemingly abandoned cottage, the temperature goes from cold to hot, as hormones rage while the body count piles up.
Minty, who is subject to fainting spells (the result of one of her masters cracking her head open when she was 13), goes into the wilderness armed with nothing but her wits, and comes out the other side. Rechristening herself Harriet, she turns into a stealth abolitionist, and a leader too, brandishing a pistol that she's willing, if need be, to turn on her own people (to get them to cross the water they're scared they're going to drown in). She's cautious, but she can also be reckless, because that's the unprecedented nature of what she's doing. As she becomes a conductor on the Underground Railroad, her bravery just grows, to the point that she wields that pistol as if it were part of her. As a heroine, Harriet Tubman is long overdue on the big screen, and "Harriet" is a conscientiously uplifting, devoted, rock-solid version of her story. Yet when it comes to putting the audience in touch with what's extraordinary about Harriet Tubman — not just illustrating what she did but letting us connect with that quest, and with her, on a moment-to-moment level — "Harriet" is a conventional and rather prosaic piece of filmmaking.
