With the exception of Alice, the different groups of characters featured throughout the film are disconnected from one another and, only at the end, come together in an albeit contrived manner as Alice literally races "the past" to save "the present". There is little reason for ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS to exist other than to exploit the ongoing potential of the Disney-owned rights to Lewis Carroll's famous literary character. Unlike the first film in the series, THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS doesn't have "curiosity" factor. Audiences are familiar with the Wonderland landscape and its collection of oddball characters. While Disney's "Go To" screenwriter of fantasy fare, Linda Woolverton, tries to expand both Alice and Hatter, very little other characterisation exists. Even Sacha Baron Cohen's Time, the film's other main player, is just a broad sketch who lacks any real motivation other than as an automaton whose sole purpose is to keep the moments ticking by. Antes de meterme de lleno con la crítica me gustaría saber porque en España hemos traducido un título como Black or White (Blanco o negro, refiriéndose realmente a la película) lo hemos convertido en Lo mejor para ella. No me entra en la cabeza. Bueno, Lo mejor para ella es una telefilme demasiado alargado que termina por aburrir debido al poco riesgo que ha tomado Mike Binder ( En algún lugar de la memoria) a la hora de convertir una historia real (ocurrió en su familia) a la gran pantalla. Sólo se salva de la quema Kevin Costner ( Tres días para matar) y Octavia Spencer ( La serie Divergente: Insurgente), ya que el resto está demasiado edulcorado y puesto a disposición de hacernos reflexionar sobre el tema racial. Un tema mejor tratado en infinidad de películas. Kevin Costner y Jillian Estell en Lo mejor para ella Lo mejor para ella empieza a decaer pronto. Después de poner ya el corazón en un puño de los espectadores, la cinta cambia de tercio hacía el tema racial y es aquí donde flojea con creces.
